Summary

The daughter of the silk goods wholesaler, Sohbei Yamashiro, Oiku, was found murdered in the storehouse by her fiancé, Bunjiro. Upon receiving the report, the young master learns that Oiku, who worked as a maid, had returned home frightened and was being harbored in the storehouse. Meanwhile, at the Yamashiro residence, the veteran maid, Masuyama, was emphasizing the theory of suicide.
