In 1916, 26-year-old Boris Pasternak came to visit the family of chemist Boris Zbarsky, at that time the manager of the Morozov factories. Impressions from the trip were included in Pasternak's lyrical poems and determined the writer's further creative path. Perm became the prototype of the city of Yuryatin in the novel "Doctor Zhivago".
