Biography

Alfonso Patiño Gómez (August 18, 1910 – 1977) was a Mexican journalist, producer, director, and screenwriter. He began his career in journalism, co-founding the newspaper La Prensa in 1928 and later establishing the film magazine Cine Gráfico in 1933. Transitioning to filmmaking, Patiño Gómez directed several films, including Los dos pilletes (1942) and Canta y no llores... (1949), which starred ranchera singer Irma Vila. His work often explored social themes and contributed to the development of Mexican cinema during the mid-20th century.
