Biography

Anas Zawahri, a Palestinian national based in Syria, born in 1987, is a film director, editor, and independent producer. He is also a teacher of cinema at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Damascus. He graduated as an assistant engineer in interior design in 2009. He has participated in numerous film workshops, such as the Beirut Talent Workshop in Lebanon, organized by the Metropolis Foundation as part of the Berlinale Talent Program in 2022. In 2024, he completed his first feature-length documentary film, “My Memory is Full of Ghosts.” The film premiered at the 55th edition of the Visions of Reel Festival in Switzerland and wan a special mention in the International Feature Film Competition. He directed the short narrative film "An Ordinary Day" in 2020. The short documentary film "Summer, City and Camera" in 2022. The two films participated in numerous international festivals and won multiple awards. He worked as a producer on developing stage of the documentary film "The House No.7" and is currently developing his project as a director for the film "A Man Who Lived after the Event." Additionally, he has completed numerous experimental and video art. He voluntarily translated 170 classic films into Arabic.
