Biography

After graduating from NYU with a degree in film production, Jayil has worked as a director of commercials, music videos, and short films in both the US and South Korea. In the last couple of years, his works have screened in 100+ film festivals and garnered 50+ awards around the world. His film Georgia (2020) won best short at the Busan International Film Festival and was nominated for a Korean Oscar. Georgia has also been featured in The New Yorker’s Screening Room Video Series and ranked 6th on Screen Rant’s 10 Best Short Films Ever Made According to Letterboxd.
