Biography

Viknesh is the founder of San Francisco film production company, A Viknesh Island Production, formed in 2014, and has been writing, producing, and directing short films and feature-length films since 2000. Having graduated from a polytechnic with an engineering diploma, Viknesh educated himself on filmmaking by reading, watching behind the scene videos, enrolling in workshops and working on numerous sets as a production assistant, all done while serving in the Republic of Singapore Navy as a Naval Combat Systems Specialist. In 2008, after completing his contract with the Navy, he pursued a Bachelor's degree in film production. In 2013, he graduated from the Academy of Art University, San Francisco with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Motion Picture and Television Production. During his time at the Academy, he produced and directed a number of short films, music videos and commercials. Released in 2012, he produced and directed his first feature film, True Love.
