Biography

Ítalo Almeida, a.k.a cmg_ngm_pod, born in 1996 in São Paulo and has been living in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, since his childhood. Ítalo is a visual artist who works with different media, such as photography, cinema and installations. He uses, as a field of research, places of popular agglomeration to map their location in the world. He was resident in LAB Cultural BDMG in 2020 and won BH Nas Telas 2021, a funding to run his first short-movie “...Lombrado". The movie is about his perspective as a black young artist during the pandemic in 2020, through two characters played by black friends. Ítalo was one of the artists presented at the 30th edition Biennal Exhibition of the Youth Art, promoted by SESC Ribeirão Preto with itinerancy in São Paulo.
