Biography

Corey Young is an emerging filmmaker and skateboarder living and working in Sydney, Australia. Growing up in Sydney's inner west, Young's passion for filmmaking stems from spending his early childhood watching movies with his older brother in the wee hours of the morning. He learned to skateboard at age 8 and began making skate videos with his friends in his teens. Corey has spent the majority of his adult life traveling and skating full time as a sponsored skater for shoe and board companies, creating skate videos with both independent and commercial filmers. In 2021, Corey released a full video part (a showcase of skating tricks filmed in different street locations) with indie board company "Private Joy." Following its release, he shifted his focus from skating and began writing short stories. After meeting his partner Ruby, now also his producer, he adapted one of his short stories into a script and pulled together a team of filmmaking collaborators through his skate contacts to direct his first short film.Read More...
