Chitra Dewi is one of the actresses who became a director in the world of Indonesian films, which is still rare. Others are Ratna Asmara (Tuberose Night, 1950) and Sofia WD (South Storm, 1960). The first time he played in Tamu Agung (1955), but his name was only known through Tiga Dara (1956) with his 'younger siblings' Mieke Wijaya and Indriati Iskak.
