Biography

Nazriya Nazim (born on December 20, 1994) is an Indian actress and producer known for her impactful performances primarily in the Malayalam and Tamil film industries. Nazriya began her career as a child artist and swiftly transitioned into one of the most popular actresses in South Indian cinema. Nazriya's entry into the entertainment industry started at a young age. She made her debut as a child artist in the Malayalam film "Palunku" (2006), directed by Blessy, where she played the role of a daughter. Her early exposure to the film industry allowed her to develop her acting skills and gain valuable experience in front of the camera. In addition to acting in films, Nazriya also became a popular television anchor, hosting a music reality show on Asianet called "Munch Star Singer." Her charming screen presence and natural talent as a host further increased her popularity. Nazriya's career breakthrough came with her role in the Malayalam film "Maad Dad" (2013), but it was her performance in the romantic drama "Neram" (2013), directed by Alphonse Puthren, that garnered significant attention. This bilingual film, made in both Tamil and Malayalam, showcased her versatility and charm, earning her widespread acclaim. Following "Neram," Nazriya starred in a string of successful films including "Raja Rani" (2013), "Ohm Shanthi Oshaana" (2014), and "Bangalore Days" (2014). Her role as Pooja Mathew in "Ohm Shanthi Oshaana" won her the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress, solidifying her status as a leading actress. "Bangalore Days," directed by Anjali Menon, further established her as a versatile performer and became one of the highest-grossing Malayalam films of all time. In 2014, Nazriya made her debut in the Tamil film industry with "Vaayai Moodi Pesavum," which was well-received. She continued to balance her career between Malayalam and Tamil cinema, taking on diverse roles that highlighted her acting range. After a brief hiatus from acting following her marriage to actor Fahadh Faasil in 2014, Nazriya made a successful comeback with the film "Koode" (2018), directed by Anjali Menon. Her performance was widely praised, and she continued to act in films like "Trance" (2020) and "Maniyarayile Ashokan" (2020), both of which further showcased her evolving talent. Nazriya's contributions to cinema have earned her several accolades, including multiple Asianet Film Awards, Filmfare Awards South, and a Kerala State Film Award. Her career is marked by a blend of commercial success and critical acclaim, making her one of the most respected and beloved actresses in the South Indian film industry
