Biography

Wynton was born in Louisville, KY in 1993 and started playing violin and piano at the age of six. He began to concentrate on piano exclusively at the age of eight when he moved to the New York City Metropolitan area (New Jersey). He has studied with, played for and performed with some of the greatest names in jazz including: Wynton Marsalis, Christian McBride, McCoy Tyner, Ahmad Jamal, Bebo Valdes, Ellis Marsalis, Marc Cary, T.S. Monk, Victor Goines, Wess Anderson and Todd Williams. His principal piano teacher from age 8 to 17 was world-class, critically acclaimed pianist, Aysegul Emine Durakoglu. He graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelors in Music with a major in Composition from Boston Conservatory where he was awarded the Roger Sessions Memorial Composition Award. He recently earned a Masters in Music with a major in Composition from The Royal College of Music in London. In 2018 he was a co-founder of an annual classical music festival in the Portuguese city of Vale de Cambra.
