Season four is a year of transitions for the Gilmores. Lorelai quits her job to realize her ambition of opening an inn of her own with her best friend, Sookie (Melissa McCarthy, Samantha Who?). Rory, meanwhile, is adjusting to her new life at Yale.

As season five of the Emmy®-winning series unfolds, Lorelai and Rory once again face major changes. In addition to recurring guest stars Jared Padalecki, David Sutcliffe and Michael DeLuise, Norman Mailer and Carole King also guest star.

Lorelai and Rory face their first serious estrangement from each other and Rory has left Yale. Rory's self-indulgent boyfriend, Logan (Matt Czuchry, The Good Wife, who becomes a series regular this season), is also convinced she's making a mistake.
