Summary

During the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, the imperial court was controlled by the Yan Party, the internal government was corrupt, Japanese pirates were rampant along the coast, and the Ming Dynasty was in danger. In the city of Nanjing, Cheng Wendao, the son of Nanjing General Cheng Su, was talented and successful at a young age. He wanted to marry his childhood sweetheart, Princess Li Zhenzhen of the Prince's Mansion. However, this marriage between the literary and martial families aroused the fear of Mingde, a high-ranking official in the court. So Mingde designed to promote Cheng Wendao's sworn brother Gao Jianxiong, and falsely passed on the imperial decree to exterminate Cheng Wendao's family.
