Summary

Departmental midwife Ella (Sofie Gråbøl) and her staff fight a daily battle to give mothers, newborns and relatives the best possible treatment despite strong understaffing. At the same time, she is doing everything she can to suppress her growing feelings for the married pediatrician Jerry.
